CADOREX

Composition: Each ml contains: Florfenicol 300 mg, excipient q.s 1ml

Dosage form: Injectable solution

Target species: Cattle and pids

Indications for use, specifying the target species:

Cattle: Disease caused by florfenicol susceptible bacteria. Preventive and therapeutic treatment of respiratory tract infections in cattle due to Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida and Histophilus somni. The presence of the disease in the herd should be established before preventive treatment.

Pigs: Treatment of respiratory infections caused by strains of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae and Pasteurella multocida susceptible to florfenicol.

Contraindications: Do not use in adult bulls and in boars intended for bredding purposes. Do not use in case of previous allergic reactions to florfenicol. Do not use in piglets of less than 2 kg. Do not use during pregnancy and lactation.

Amounts to be administered and administration route:

Treatment:

1 ml of Cadorex per 15 kg of body weight (equivalent to 20 mg florfenicol/kg b.w.) by intramuscular route to be administered twice at 48 hour interval using a 16-gauge needle. INTRAMUSCULAR ROUTE.

2 ml of Cadorex per 15 kg of body weight (equivalent to 40 mg florfenicol/kg b.w.) by subcutaneous route to be administered once only using a 16-gauge needle. SUBCUTANEOUS ROUTE.

The dose volume should not exceed 10 ml.

Prevention:

2 ml of Cadorex per 15 kg of body weight (equivalent to 40 mg florfenicol/kg b.w.) by subcutaneous route to be administered once only using a 16-gauge needle. SUBCUTANEOUS ROUTE.

The dose volume should not exceed 10 ml.

The injection should only be given in the neck.

Overdose (symptoms, emergency procedures, antidotes): In swine after administration of 3 times the recommended dose or more a reduction in feeding, hydration and weight gain has been observed. After administration of 5 times the recommended dose or more vomiting has also been noted.

Withdrawal periods:

Cattle: Meat: 30 days by intramuscular route and 44 days by subcutaneous route. Not authorized for use in lactating animals producing milk for human consumption.

Pigs: Meat: 18 days.

Presentations: Vials of 10, 20, 50, 100 and 250 ml.

Storage conditions: Store below 300C. Do not refrigerate.

Shelf-life: 2 years from the manufacturing date; 28 days from the first opening.
