Composition

1 ml contain: Tylosin (base), 200 mg.

 

Indications

Cattle (Beef cattle and non lactating milking cows): Bovine respiratory complex, generally associated with Pasteurella multocida and Corynebacterium pyogenes, pneumonia, bronchitis, diphtheria and metritis.

Swine: Arthritis, pneumonia, vibrionic dysentery.

 

Contraindications

Must not be given to piglets weighing less than 3 kg, if an accurate dosage is not possible.

 

Adverse reactions

After subcutaneous injection painful irritation and local oedema occur at the injection site. Intramuscular injection may cause local reaction with necrosis, hemorrhages and conjuntival neoformation, phenomenons showed 6 days after injection.

It has been reported in some pigs oedema of the rectal mucus and of the vulva, rectal prolapse, diarrhea, erythema and pruritus on the whole skin. In the event of gravity, petequies on the skin and in the serous membranes appear, especially in large animals.

In bovine, it could appear an increase of pulse rate and respiratory movements.

 

Target species

Cattle and swine.

 

Dosage for each species, route and method of administration

Intramuscular use.

Cattle: 0.5-0.9 ml of TILOSINA 200 GANADEXIL per 10 kg of body weight (equivalent to 10-18 mg of tylosin base per kg of body weight) every 24 hours for 3-5 days.

Swine: 0.45-0.5 ml of TILOSINA 200 GANADEXIL per 10 kg of body weight (equivalent to 9-10 mg of tylosin base per kg of body weight) every 12 hours for 3 days.

 

Withdrawal period

Meat: 21 days.

Do not administer in lactating females producing milk for human consumption.

 

Storage precautions

Protect from moisture, light, and heat.

 

Special warnings

Interactions: Do not administer in conjunction with bactericide antibiotics.

Overdose: Tylosin has a wide safety margin in every species.

 

Disposal

Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your veterinary surgeon how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures should to protect the environment.

Containers of 50 ml, 100 ml and 250 ml are available.
