SPECIAL WARNINGS

Special precautions for use in animals: If possible, use the product on the basis of the results of the antibiogram. Using the product differently from the instructions provided on the label may lead to an increase in the prevalence of bacteria resistant to the active principle due to potential cross-resistance. Avoid administering the product together with ionophores such as monesin, salinomycin, narasin or other mono-valent ionophorous antibiotics, because disorders such as: delayed growth, ataxia, paresis, increased death rate in young subjects may occur. If adverse reactions occur due to interaction with the product, immediately stop administering the medicated water.

Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals: Use protective gear when handling the product, i.e. protective clothing, gloves and mask; do not inhale, avoid contact with skin and eyes. In the event of accidental contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water. Do not eat, drink or smoke when handling the product; wash your hands after

use. Persons known to be hypersensitive to the active principle or its excipients must avoid contact with the veterinary medical product.

Use during gestation period, lactation and egg-laying: Use only accordingly to the benefit/risk assessment by the responsible veterinarian. Do not administer to hens that lay eggs for human consumption.

Interactions with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction: Tiamulin is known to cause clinically significant interactions that are often lethal with antibiotics belonging to the category of ionophores. Consequently, to animals treated with tiamulin must not be administered substances that contain monensin and narasin, salinomycin or ionophorous antibiotics during or at least 7 days prior and after treatment with the veterinary medicinal product. In the case of simultaneous administration of Tiamulin with Sodium Monensin or Salinomycin, disorders may occur such as: delayed growth, ataxia, paresis, paralyzed legs, and increase in death rate (in young animals).

Overdose: Data are not available. Do not exceed recommended doses.

Incompatibilities: The product must not be administered in combination with monensin or other ionophores.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS TO TAKE WHEN DISPOSING OF UNUSED MEDICINAL OR ANY WASTE PRODUCTS: All unused medicinal products or waste produced by the latter must be disposed of in accordance with local laws and handed over to the responsible waste collection centres for unusued or expired medicinal products.
